March 3, 2015 - The Graduate Theological Union has introduced new degree options in Hindu Studies and Interreligious Studies for its Master of Arts program, and has extended the application deadline through July 1, 2015, for students seeking to enroll in these programs for the Fall 2015 semester. The Master of Arts with an area of concentration in Hindu Studies will be offered in connection with the GTU’s newly established Hindu Studies Initiative. GTU and CARE Partner with Berkeley Repertory Theatre

The Graduate Theological Union and the Center for the Arts, Religion, and Education are excited to announce a new partnership with the Berkeley Repertory Theatre. As part of this partnership, a group of GTU faculty members will host a panel discussion following an upcoming performance of Head of Passes, a new play by MacArthur Genius award winner Tarell Alvin McCraney that is based in part on the Book of Job. In Memoriam: Jane Daggett Dillenberger

The Graduate Theological Union community mourns the loss of Jane Dillenberger, Professor Emerita of Theology and the Arts, who died at her home in Berkeley on November 11 at the age of 98. Presidential Scholarship

All applicants for the GTU doctoral program are considered for our Presidential Scholarship. Each year, the Presidential Scholarship Program provides four doctoral students, one from each department, with full tuition for five years. This prestigious scholarship is awarded based on merit by the GTU’s doctoral admissions committee. Presidential Scholars have added support that enables them to complete the program more quickly and to engage in professional activities such as presenting papers at conferences and publishing articles in academic journals.
