We are pleased to announce the recipients of 2022 summer research grants for GTU students working on interreligious projects related to Judaism and/or Islam. Please see the list of distinguished students and their projects below. We would like to thank the Walter & Elise Haas Fund for their generous support of this program, which has made these research projects possible as part of a multi-faceted $75,000 grant to the GTU in support of the Madrasa-Midrasha Program, a collaborative interreligious effort of the Center for Islamic Studies and the Richard S. Dinner Center for Jewish Studies.

Each year the Madrasa-Midrasha Program offers summer research grants for students working on interreligious projects related to Judaism and Islam, funded through generous support by the Walter & Elise Haas Fund. Grants typically range from $250 to $500 for individual projects and $500 to $1000 for joint projects. Madrasa-Midrasha Program Director Dr. Mahjabeen Dhala Featured in GTU's Fall 2021 Skylight Magazine

The GTU welcomes Dr. Mahjabeen Dhala as Assistant Professor of Islamic Studies and Director of the Madrasa-Midrasha Program, a collaborative effort of the Center for Islamic Studies and Center for Jewish Studies. Dr. Dhala received her MA in Islamic Studies from the GTU in 2017 and her PhD from the GTU's Department of Sacred Texts and their Interpretation in 2021. Call for Proposals: Henry Luce Foundation Grant

The Graduate Theological Union is pleased to announce community grants of up to $5000 as an extension of a generous grant from the Henry Luce Foundation. We welcome proposals from 501(c)(3) organizations in the Bay Area working on the frontlines with communities disproportionately affected by COVID-19, particularly communities of color. GTU Announces $2.5 Million Grant from Hellman Foundation to Support Interreligious Education and Engagement

Berkeley, CA - October 16, 2019 - The Graduate Theological Union has announced receipt of a $2,500,000 grant from the Hellman Foundation to support bold new initiatives in interreligious programming.
