February 16, 2022 -- In accordance with the revised Alameda County and city of Berkeley health guidelines, face coverings are now optional when inside a GTU building.

January 21, 2022 -- This semester, you may find differing COVID protocols throughout the GTU consortium. If you’ve cross-registered for courses, please check the websites of the hosting member schools to find the information you’ll need to start the Spring 2022 semester. January 3, 2022 -- In response to the widespread impact of the COVID-19 Omicron variant, all GTU faculty, staff, and students are strongly encouoraged to work remotely for the next two weeks, as possible. If it is necessary to be physically present on campus, facemasks are required when inside a GTU building, irrespective of vaccine status; N-95 masks are strongly encouraged. The GTU's Vaccination Policy remains in effect; vaccine booster shots are strongly encouraged. Further updates and instructions are forthcoming.

December 15, 2021 -- In accordance with the California indoor mask mandate, face coverings are required when inside a GTU building, irrespective of vaccine status. This requirement is in effect through January 15, 2022.

November 1, 2021 -- In accordance with the revised Alameda County health guidelines, face coverings are now optional when inside a GTU building. The GTU's Vaccination Policy is still in effect and proof of vaccination (or proof of approved accommodation and a negative COVID test) are still required for entry into the GTU Hewlett Building.

August 2, 2021 -- In accordance with the City of Berkeley's health order, all employees, students, and guests at the GTU will be required to wear well-fitting masks in any indoor public setting, regardless of vaccination status, effective 12:01 am on Tuesday, August 3. This policy applies to everyone over the age of two. 

June 29, 2021 -- The GTU begins to re-open for many in person activities as of Monday, August 2, 2021. Read the full update from Uriah Kim, President, below.

June 22, 2021 -- In accordance with the revised Cal/OSHA COVID-19 workplace standards, the GTU’s COVID-19 workplace practices have been updated.

December 8, 2020 4 pm -- In accordance with public health and safety guidelines, the GTU's COVID-19 Site-Specific Protection Plan (SPP) has been updated.

November 3, 2020, 2 pm -- The GTU's COVID-19 Task Force has shared an update, which you may read in full below.

June 30, 2020, 1 pm -- Due to the worsening rate of COVID-19 transmission in California and the United States more broadly, the GTU’s COVID-19 Task Force has unanimously determined that it is in the community’s best interests to postpone "Phase Two" of the campus reintegration plan. An announcement will be made once a new date has been set, along with applicable policy updates.
