Presidential Scholarship

All applicants for the GTU doctoral program are considered for our Presidential Scholarship. Each year, the Presidential Scholarship Program provides four doctoral students, one from each department, with full tuition for five years. This prestigious scholarship is awarded based on merit by the GTU’s doctoral admissions committee. Presidential Scholars have added support that enables them to complete the program more quickly and to engage in professional activities such as presenting papers at conferences and publishing articles in academic journals.

Women's Voices Campaign

The GTU boasts one of the largest contingents of female theology students and alumnae in the country. Beginning on International Women's Day 2018 and continuing for more than six weeks, we featured a different quote from one of our alumnae each weekday on social media--and we've collected them all on this page. Applying for Financial Aid

Financial Aid is awarded based on a standard 9-month academic year, not by calendar year. The academic year award cycle begins with fall, followed by spring, and ends with summer term. Please note that under Title IV federal student aid regulations, our summer term is considered a single term comprised of a combination of mini-sessions or modules.  A module is defined as a course or courses in a payment period or semester that does not span the entire length of the term. Financial Aid Announcements

Every year, many of the federal financial aid regulations are up for review and approval by the federal government. The government maintains the right to modify all Title IV federal student aid regulations at any time during the year should there be budgetary or regulation issues that need to be addressed immediately. The Financial Aid Office will be able to answer any specific questions regarding how these changes might or might not affect you and your financial aid award for the upcoming school year.

Student Travel Grants

GTU Student Travel Grant: Doctoral students who have papers accepted for the program of the Annual Meeting of the AAR, SBL, or other comparable national meeting or conference may compete in the GTU's Student Travel Grant competition. Winner are given cash awards to support the costs of attending the meeting. The Dean and Core Doctoral Faculty Awards Committee select recipients for this award.
