MA Application Information

The Master of Arts is an academic degree offered by the Graduate Theological Union in cooperation with its member schools and centers. The program provides ecumenical and interreligious learning opportunities, and students have access to courses offered throughout the consortium, and many courses at UC Berkeley. The MA student is required to affiliate with a member school, or a participating academic center or institute. The GTU encourages international students to apply to the Master’s and Doctoral programs. 15% of our students are international, representing 20 countries from around the world. Completing the Application MA and Doctoral students submit the standard applications available from the GTU. Presidential Scholarship

  All applicants for the GTU doctoral program are considered for our Presidential Scholarship. Each year eight applicants to the GTU doctoral program are offered presidential scholarships. Merit-based, these scholarships offer two years of full tuition. Financial Aid Priority Deadlines

The priority deadline is the deadline by which students must apply in order to receive priority consideration for forms of aid that are limited in nature, such as institutional tuition assistance and federal work-study.
