If you thought manuscript illustrations created by theologians trained in writing on calfskin with quill pens had become an extinct art form, you may be interested in a exhibit now at the Alameda Free Library (2nd Floor, 1550 Oak Street, Alameda).
Students from the Center for Arts, Religion, and Education created artworks of personal prayers in formats the reflect the illuminated manuscripts of medieval times and contempory work.
Their creations can be seen in "The Illuminated Page" art exhibit on the second floor of the library through Saturday, March 2.
