GTU Offers Free Online Course in World Religions

The Graduate Theological Union and the Templeton World Charity Foundation are partnering to offer a free open online course entitled “Wisdom from World Religions.” The course will be taught by Dr. Kenneth Rose, senior research fellow at the GTU and professor of philosophy and religion at Christopher Newport University. An expert on pluralist philosophies and theologies of religions, comparative mysticism, and contemplative methods, Dr. Rose will lead students through a six-week online course exploring key themes of the world’s religious and spiritual traditions, drawing on principles and practices outlined by Sir John Templeton in his book Wisdom from World Religions: Pathways Toward Heaven on Earth.

Prospective students can pre-register for this free (grant-supported), non-credit, online course now. Students will be assigned to one of two sessions this summer: session one runs from June 4 through July 13, and session two runs from August 13 through September 21. Interested persons can find out more and register to take the course at https://wisdomfromworldreligions.com/.

COURSE REGISTRATION UPDATE (May 10): Registration for the first iteration of the course (June 4 - July 13) will close on June 1 at 1 PM noon (EDT), or 5 PM GMT. Registration will reopen about a week later, giving students opportunity to enroll in the second session (August 13 - September 21).
