The CIS celebrates and congratulates MA graduate, Huzaifah Bharucha, who defended his MA Capstone, titled, “Contradictions between Āḥād Ḥadīth and Qiyās within the Ḥanafī Madhhab.”

Congratulations to Dr. Mahjabeen Dhala who will be presenting, “Prayer of the Planet: Environmental Ethics in Islam” at ECOTHEE-2022, 7th International Conference on Ecological Theology and Environmental Ethics, Orthodox Academy of Crete, Chania, Greece, Oct 26-29, 2022.

Congratulations to CIS research scholar, Carol Bier on her publication, "Persian Velvets of the 17th Century: Symmetry, Craft, and Technology," Symmetry: Art and Science 1-4 (2022), pp. 168-75, and on attending a two-day conference on "The Sasanians in Context: Art, History, and Archaeology," hosted by the Freer Gallery of Art, National Museum of Asian Art, Washington DC, Oct 21-22, 2022.

Congratulations to GTU alum and visiting scholar, Dr. Ahmed Khater who presented a paper, “Contemporary Fiqh Issues Related to the Usage of Technology in Family Law,” at the Assembly of Muslim Jurists of America 18th Annual Conference in Chicago, Sept 9-12, 2022.
