Curbside Pick-up

Curbside Service for outdoor pickup in Berkeley:

Note: Due to the volume of requests, books may take a day to be pulled. If you are able to enter the building, it is faster to not request the item, but get it directly from the shelf during any open hours.

First: Place any items you want on hold and wait for them to arrive at the hold shelf. Use the request button to select the books, and check the status of them using "Your Library Account." Generally, it takes a business day for items to arrive on the hold shelf, but it could be longer if you are requesting from multiple locations or if the item is in use by someone else. You will get an email when the book is ready.

Then: After your books have arrived on the hold shelf, come by the library during open hours or on Sundays from 1pm - 5pm. Please do not crowd near the door, as others may be entering the building, but call the circulation desk and let them know you are outside. They will check out the books and bring them outside to you. No appointments needed!

Note: on Sundays, the building isn't open, only curbside services are available. For Sunday pick-up, please request the books by Saturday or earlier.

Need help requesting books? Contact us at library@gtu.edu or chat a librarian from this page.

This flyer describes the curbside process.

Returning Items?

Please place returns in the book drop, do not hand them to the staff member.

Curbside Pick-up Window at SFTS

The SFTS branch library on the University of Redlands, Marin Campus in San Anselmo offers a curbside pickup window for all patrons to pick up requested items. The window faces the Geneva Hall terrace, and it's the one closest to the computer lab.

First: Place any items you want on hold and wait for them to arrive at the hold shelf. Use the request button to select the books, and check the status of them using "Your Library Account." Generally, it takes a few business days for items to arrive on the hold shelf, but it could be longer if you are requesting from multiple locations or if the item is in use by someone else. You will get an email when the book is ready.

Items coming from the GTU library are delivered by van on Thursdays.

Second: After your books have arrived on the hold shelf, come by the library during open hours, or make an appointment. The advantage to making an appointment is your items will be bagged up and ready for you when you arrive.

The curbside pickup window hours are Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

You can drop in at anytime, but please feel free to schedule in advance so staff can prepare your items for you. Need items brought out to your car? Please call the front desk at (415)-451-2845 upon arrival.
