Raising Our Heads: Facing the Light that Draws Near

Friday, November 30th 2018, 7:00pm
PSR Chapel, 1798 Scenic Avenue Berkeley, CA 94709

As we are immersed in the shadows of the longest nights of the year, we come together as a community to celebrate the light that draws near—and we invite you to join us this Friday night at 7:00 p.m.

Through music and poetry, we will rejoice in the call of the Holy to raise up our heads and face the struggles of our time with hope and joy deeply rooted in the dream of justice we work to make real. Our time will conclude with festive feasting and merry-making in the spirit of all the holidays that we celebrate during this season.

As a part of our time together, we will be collecting donations—cash and gift cards—for those who have suffered as a result of the recent Camp Fire tragedy. We invite you to participate as you can in this offering of solidarity and hope as we worship together.

This celebration features music by Joe Douglass and Spirit of Praise, Earnest Larkins, Gráinne Buchanan, the GTU Korean Women’s Choir, and the PSR Chorale and poetry by yosoy homeboy and Cruz Trujillo, Murphy Guinane, and Henry Pablo.

We hope you will join us for this PSR tradition that inspires us toward the hope and joy of this season.
