Sunday, August 21st 2016, 5:30pm

The GTU's Richard S. Dinner Center for Jewish Studies is delighted to inform you about the publication of Dr. Naomi Seidman's long-awaited work, The Marriage Plot Or, How Jews Fell in Love with Love, and with Literature (Stanford University Press).  Dr. Seidman will be speaking about her latest work at two upcoming events sponsored by CJS. The first will be:

Sunday, August 21, 5:30 pm
Congregation Netivot Shalom
1316 University Ave, Berkeley, CA 94702

Dr. Seidman will also speak about her new book in conversation with Stanford University's Dr. Gabriella Safran at a CJS event at the GTU on October 13.

"Once again, Naomi Seidman has given us a beautifully written book that is equally illuminating about traditional texts and contemporary performances. The Marriage Plot is a foundational work for anyone interested in Jewish literary and cultural studies, in questions about gender and translation, and in how Jews 'fell in love with love' in the mid-19th century."
