Board of Trustees
The governing body of the GTU is its Board of Trustees, responsible for the academic graduate programs offered by the GTU as an accredited institution. The Board of Trustees includes representation from the community, GTU member schools, and faculty. The decisions of the Board of Trustees are implemented by the President of the GTU as it Chief Executive Officer.
Board Chair and Vice Chair
William Glenn is chair of the board of trustees of the GTU. He has served as Director of Development for the San Francisco Foundation, Executive Director of Continuum, and President of the Board of Directors for the San Francisco AIDS Foundation. He has a BA from Creighton University, an MA from Saint Louis University, an MA in Clinical Psychology from the University of San Francisco, and an MDiv from the Pacific School of Religion where he was awarded the Paul Wesley Yinger Award for Distinguished Preaching. Throughout his career, Glenn has provided leadership to a variety of non-profit organizations, both as head and a senior manager. He has served on many community boards, from arts organizations and a mutual fund to a variety of social services providers, often in the capacity of chair or in other positions of executive leadership, with a particular focus on development and internal operations. Glenn is a licensed psychotherapist with a private practice in San Francisco and Santa Rosa.

Mary Jo Potter, is Vice Chair of the board of trustees of the GTU. She has been director of 16 companies over the last 20 years, and is currently CEO and Managing Partner of Healthcare Angels. Previously, she was with BDC, Highperlink, Sibson, Corporate Alliance, and Oxicon. Mary Jo has been actively involved in the healthcare sector for 25 years. She is currently a GP with Keiretsu Capital, where she heads up their global healthcare committee. She is also an LP in Purple Arch Ventures and Portfolia, and a member of the Band of Angels. Mary Jo has also been active in the non-profit sector, with Hanna Center as a board member for 28 years, and Hope Unlimited in Brazil for 21 years. She is a member of NACD, Women Corporate Directors, International Women’s Forum, and an advisor to six organizations including Skydeck and ExPat Women.

GTU Whistleblower Policy
The Graduate Theological Union seeks to operate with highest standards of personal, professional, and business conduct.
