Surjit Singh Lecture
On Nov. 2, 2005, over 70 people gathered at the GTU to hear the fifteenth annual Surjit Singh Lecture on Comparative Religious Thought and Culture. Dr. Felix Wilfred, chair of the Department of Christian studies at the University of Madras in India, spoke on “The Galileans of the South: the Untouchables and Christianity.” He discussed the complex position of the untouchables in the context of the Christian faith, and the changes currently underway in the population, as well as possibilities for the future.
