Reading the Signs of the Times: The Heritage and Promise of the GTU
|
| Rev. John S. Cummins |
“In the 1960’s, the pioneering founders of the GTU responded creatively to ecumenical ferment in the context of cultural and economic pressures on American theological education. Berkeley with its rich mix of academic and religious institutions provided a singular geographical opportunity. Patient efforts produced accomplishment. Now, after nearly a half century, new opportunities arise to foster ecumenical and interreligious growth, to look to the economic, demographic, and theological significance of the Pacific Rim, and to enhance the GTU’s partnership with the University of California.”
Reception to follow.
