Partnerships Programs: Asia/Oceania Consultation Resources/Publishing
RESOURCES/PUBLISHING
The group noted that projects would inevitably be collaborative and should include Asian perspectives that would help to set a new agenda for Asian theological education. They proposed:
Internet projects to coordinate already existing Internet resources
- a new interactive Web site, to be based in Bangalore, that can be used to share syllabi, lectures, and other resources, and perhaps include blogs to discuss teaching strategies
- a collaborative online journal (after further reflection, this project will be deferred, because of the demise of several similar journals)
- finding a suitable permanent home for John England’s archives on Asian Christianity
- indexing Association of Theological Education in South East Asia (ATESEA) dissertations
- a major textbook project to collaborative produce needed textbooks (e.g., History of Christianity in Asia; Bible in Asia; Asian Biblical Interpretation; Christianity among Asian Religions; Christianity in Asian Society; Dictionary of Asian Christian Biography; Pastoral Counseling in Asia) in conjunction with professional associations in Asia and perhaps IASACT
- translations of resources into English (for pan-Asian use) and into various Asian vernaculars
