Asia Project
The Partnerships project is jointly
sponsored by the GTU and the United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia. The project seeks to transform theological
education by addressing Asian theologies and contexts. It furthers GTU’s
mission to educate students for teaching, research, ministry, and service – preparing future global leaders
with knowledge of Asian theologies.
On March 29
through 31, Partnerships held an international consultation that
brought together representatives from various regions in Asia and Oceania.
The participants worked together in small groups to design courses, discuss
joint publishing ventures, and plan collaborative international institutional
exchange projects.
“This event was
so successful that one of our professors called it a watershed,” says Faustino
(Tito) Cruz, director of the Partnerships
project and Academic Dean of the Franciscan School of Theology. “We
strengthened relationships among scholars who are interested in Asian
theologies. The rich work we are doing can only result from working as a
community of scholars.”
